For another year, the Salon du Roman Historique will be held in Levallois, in the Parc de la Planchette, on July 5 and 6, 2025. This literary event, dedicated to history, offers the public the chance to immerse themselves in fascinating works, including novels, stories and biographies, during book signings, debates and events, next to a hundred-year-old oak tree.
Some 100 authors and illustrators will be present over the two days, from a wide range of backgrounds, including Pierre Assouline, Olivier Barde-Cabuçon, Gilles Boyer, Estelle-Sarah Bulle, Yves Bigot, Marwan Chahine, Gérard de Cortanze, Emmanuel de Waresquiel, Laurent Decaux, Isabelle Desesquelles, Bénédicte Dupré la Tour, Daniel Fiévet, Irène Frain, Pierre Haski, Stéphanie Hochet, Laurent Joly and Patricia Tourancheau, who will be tackling themes including Les Justes, the sea and navigation, criminal cases, the great figures of literature and politics, family heritage, revolutionary women and the history of America.
You can also enjoy a closing musical reading by Jean Echenoz on Ravel, a tribute to the composer who lived in Levallois, created in collaboration with the Maurice Ravel Conservatory in Levallois. You'll also have access to a literary café devoted to historical novels, where authors of adult and children's literature can take the floor and present their works at readings and round-table discussions.
And let's not forget children, who won't be left out in the cold at this festival, thanks to fun drawing and writing workshops, shows, and also the Young Readers' Prize, to create a new generation of little historians.
