From May 1 to 3, 2025, the Foire d'Afrique Paris 2025 takes over the eclectic Espace Mas, in the heart of the 13th arrondissement. This not-to-be-missed event is one of the highlights of the Saison Culturelle Africaine Paris-2025. Under the banner of sharing and celebration, the Fair brings together exhibitors, artists and craftspeople from all over the African continent and its diaspora. We discover a rich universe where crafts, African fashion, gastronomy and artistic performances vibrate in unison.
The event invites us to wander freely among the stands: from traditional jewelry from Mali to Moroccan pottery, instruments from the Congo or leather goods from Nigeria, each encounter is a veritable sensory voyage. The artisans passionately recount the stories and ancestral techniques behind their creations. It's an experience that echoes the soul of the great historical fairs, like those that once enlivened the squares of Paris.
African gastronomy takes center stage, with authentic flavors such as mafé, thieboudienne, couscous royal or ndolé, accompanied by drinks flavored with hibiscus or ginger. The mouth-watering aroma of dishes simmered on the spot evokes the open kitchens of African villages. As for African fashion, it shows all its dynamism: contemporary wax designers, upcycled accessories and lively fashion shows echo the energy of the Dakar or Abidjan markets.
You can also take part in interactive workshops, including frizzy hair care, painting techniques, an introduction to African music and poetry writing. These activities, open to all ages, provide an opportunity to delve into the heart of a rich and diverse culture. Networking panels and Master Classes offer opportunities to learn from experts in crafts and fashion.
Every evening, artistic performances set the stage ablaze: concerts, dances and poetry readings convey the vibrant energy of the African continent. A breath of Wolof, Lingala or Bambara animates Paris, transforming the Espace Mas into a festive, cosmopolitan village for three days.
The Foire d'Afrique is also a space for contemporary dialogue on identity, creation and migration, through round tables and committed encounters. A privileged moment to understand, feel and celebrate the rich diversity of African cultures that help shape today's France.
Note that this show is available for 10€ in presale. It will cost you 15€ on site. Why not take advantage of the May 1st bank holiday to travel to Africa without leaving Paris?
