Spring’s must-attend event in Seine-et-Marne (77), the Foire de la Saint-Parfait lands each year at the parc des Noues de Montereau-Fault-Yonne for four days of bargains, conviviality and discoveries. For this 185th edition, running from 17 to 20 April 2026, Canada takes center stage, with an immersion into the culture and gastronomy of the Great North. And good news: entry is completely free.
Born in 1841 by royal decree, the fair takes its name from an ancient religious festival dedicated to Saint Parfait. Initially a livestock fair, it evolves in the early 20th century into an exposition of agricultural machinery, emblematic of the era’s progress, before gradually transforming into a large commercial and festive gathering. Carousels, musical performances, booths featuring household appliances, automobiles, or telecommunications: all the key milestones of modernization have marched through it over the decades. It was in 1958, at the 117th edition, that the livestock fair finally disappeared, yielding to the festive multisector event we know today. Nearly two centuries on, the fair draws around 70,000 visitors and more than 200 exhibitors each year, making it one of the department’s most popular events.
We wander the aisles among stalls organized into several worlds: gastronomy, regional products, housing, automotive, well-being, crafts and outdoor living. People come with a specific project in mind, whether it’s to push ahead on renovations, compare vehicles, or simply soak up the atmosphere. The fair also features its traditional association space, giving notable visibility to local players from Seine-et-Marne. Food and drink outlets are on site for lunch and dinner until 11 p.m. (except Mondays, when it’s lunch service only), so you can extend the experience without rushing.
For this edition, the organizers have chosen to spotlight Canada, offering a true immersion into the country’s culture and cuisine. On the program: a space dedicated to flavors from across the Atlantic, a Garou tribute singer for fans of Quebecois pop, and folkloric demonstrations weaving through the aisles. Saturday night extends into the evening until 10 p.m., featuring a fire-juggling show, LED light performances, a stilt-walker parade, and a DJ night to close the day in style.
The fair runs from Friday, April 17 to Monday, April 20, 2026, at Parc des Noues de Montereau-Fault-Yonne (77130). Opening hours are as follows: Friday and Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00, Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00 (extended edition), and Monday from 10:00 to 17:00. All information is available on the official Montereau Fair website and on the Seine-et-Marne department page.
Our take: A lively, free, family-friendly event to kick off spring break in Seine-et-Marne, with a Canadian theme that delivers genuine escapism without leaving the Île-de-France. We’d gladly bring the whole family for a day at the start of the holidays, enjoying on-site dining so you can take your time. It’s aimed at families with kids, bargain hunters, curious food lovers seeking cuisine from afar, and local residents looking to make progress on housing or garden projects.
