Who said you have to choose between turning the pages of a novel and binge-watching a series? From October 16 to 18, 2026, Netflix writes a new chapter by organizing its first Book Festival at Ground Control, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. Entirely free on reservation, this groundbreaking event, conceived with the Centre national du livre (CNL), promises to bring together for three days all those who love seeing on screen the stories first discovered in bookstores... or making the journey in reverse.
Stepping through the doors of Ground Control, visitors will discover a space transformed into a ephemeral library where novels, mangas, comics and graphic novels will be highlighted thanks to the involvement of numerous publishing houses. The event will also take on the feel of a grand literary salon, with a stage hosting exclusive encounters with authors, panel discussions, giant reading clubs, musical readings, debates and other activities. A chance to move from a series to its book, chat with those who imagined it, or simply leave with a new read tucked under your arm.
This festival highlights a trend that continues to gain momentum. In 2025, literary adaptations totaled more than 9 billion views on Netflix, making up roughly 20% of all content watched worldwide. Hits like Bridgerton, Lupin, The Queen's Gambit, One Hundred Years of Solitude, or Asterix and Obélix: The Battle of the Chiefs illustrate this craze. A study conducted with GfK on the influence of these adaptations on reading habits will be unveiled during the festival. As for the complete programming and the opening of the free ticketing, they will be announced in the fall.
