Have you ever been to a bathtub race? It's no joke - this unusual event has been taking place on the Ourcq canal for 12 years, and you can take part for free! The July 2, 2023 edition has been canceled, due to incidents and outbursts throughout the region!

Sunday DIY enthusiasts, you're going to need a lot of ingenuity to make your bathtub float! For the past 12 years, a particularly unusual sporting event - a bathtub race - has been taking place on the Canal de l'Ourcq, in the town of Pavillons-sous-Bois. This year, the event took place on the banks of the canal on Sunday, July 2, 2023, with the aim of racing your original boat as fast as possible over a distance of 150m, without forgetting your lifejacket, as you're not immune to taking on water! This year's event has been cancelled due to incidents and overflow in the Ile-de-France region .

For this freerace, all you have to do is choose the partner who will accompany you on this crazy adventure and build your own bathtub, complete with PVC pipes to help it float. If you don't have your own bathtub, the association organizing the event can lend you one, which you can customize! There's plenty of entertainment all day long for those who want to stay dry, while competitors take part in elimination rounds and then the grand bathtub final!

Don't forget to register on the APJC website, and find out how to make your bathtub float, as homologation and tests will be carried out beforehand, to make sure you don't sink! There are three events to choose from: a bathtub decorating contest, a classic bathtub race and an agility race. All participants must present a 25-meter swimming certificate.
