Looking for an unusual walk with an original view of the Eiffel Tower? Head for the heights of Saint-Cloud, just outside Paris, on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, to discover the Passerelle de l'Avre. It's a beautiful construction, thanks in part to Gustave Eiffel!

Paris isn't the only place to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower! We're off to the outskirts of Paris, and more specifically to Saint-Cloud, to discover the unusual Passerelle de l'Avre. It's more than just a stroll, it's an immersion in Parisian history and landscape. From its heights, it's an astonishing sight to behold, with an unparalleled view of the Eiffel Tower.

We find ourselves on this entirely pedestrian footbridge, which unfurls majestically towards the Eiffel Tower. Used daily by walkers and cyclists, it links Paris to Saint-Cloud, crossing the Bois de Boulogne. As soon as you take your first steps, you'll be surprised by the spectacular view: on one side, a majestic tree, on the other, lampposts that seem to lose themselves in the Bois de Boulogne, with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

The Passerelle de l'Avre, built at the end of the 19th century, is an integral part of an aqueduct-bridge forming part of the eponymous aqueduct. The latter was an essential part of the system that supplied Paris with water from the Eure-et-Loir to the Saint-Cloud reservoir. Even today, this footbridge supports the water pipe that supplies the capital with around a fifth of its daily water needs.

Note that its construction was orchestrated by illustrious personalities of the time, including engineer Fulgence Bienvenüe, known as the father of the Paris metro, and Gustave Eiffel 's workshops for its metal structure.

Good to know: Below the footbridge, on the Saint-Cloud side, you'll find an eco-pasture set up by the municipality. Goats and sheep take part in the conservation of this sensitive natural area.

In conclusion, the Passerelle de l'Avre in Saint-Cloud is a lovely place to discover, offering a unique perspective of the Eiffel Tower. It's a great idea for those in search of the unusual and nature just a stone's throw from the capital.
