Carreau du Temple celebrates its 10th anniversary: roller dance, show and dance workshops

You're invited to the Birthday Party at Carreau du Temple, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in style on May 18, 2024! On the program: a huge roller dance, shows, readings and workshops, for a day of dancing!

Happy Birthday le Carreau du Temple! To celebrate its 10th anniversary in style, this iconic cultural venue in the 3rd arrondissement is organizing a day of dancing and festivities on May 18, 2024, open to all free of charge, except for special activities. From 2 p.m. to midnight, take the opportunity to let go and dance, in this space dedicated to bodies, between arts and sports, with shows, performances, DJ sets, workshops and classes on the menu.

And don't forget to skate, as the Halle is transformed into a giant roller dance rink for all ages. Shall we get started?

The day's program

  • READING - Julian est une sirène - Soa de Muse - 2:30 pm > 3 pm

A reading for the little ones, performed by queer artist Soa de Muse, to question gender models and references.

  • SHOW - Save the last dance for me - Alessandro Sciarroni - 3:15 pm > 3:35 pm & 5 pm > 5:20 pm

Set to an electro cadenza, Save the last dance for me revives the polka chinata, which originated in Italy at the turn of the last century. Twirling and catchy!

  • COURS - Fierce attitude - Soa de Muse & Mami Watta - 16h > 17h

Iconic drag queens Soa de Muse and Mami Watta share tips on how to walk, pose and feel confident.

  • DJ SET - Birthday Party - Barbara Butch - 5.30 pm > 7.30 pm

DJ queen of the dancefloor, and muse to Jean-Paul Gaultier, Barbara Butch hosts a crazy DJ set where all generations will celebrate the pleasure of dancing!

  • ROLLER DANCE - Martine patine - 7:30 pm > 11:30 pm

The Halle du Carreau du Temple becomes a huge roller dance floor, where you're guaranteed to let loose and have fun, in the company of the Martine Patine collective.
