With a ceramic café in Paris 9th arrondissement and another one in the 11th, La Papoterie welcomes children and adults, ceramic painting professionals and amateurs for 2.5-hour sessions to create the design of your choice on dozens of crockery pieces, decorations…

One comes over to have a quiet moment, meeting a friend, for a date or share a creative workshop with kids: La Papoterie is the cozy, almost cocooning, location in the 9th arrondissement we want to spend the entire afternoon in, sipping some hot cocoa from a huge cup, or latte or even nibble on some chocolate cake or cheeky cookie.

This concept was created by Coline and Laura who wanted to come up with a place both friendly and creative. With the colorful walls, the plain ceramics on the walls and the bright and very cozy corners, one cannot leave La Papoterie after just five minutes. Everyone is warmly and generously welcome and the workshop was made for all. Laura recommends it from 5 years old, “you just need to be able to hold a brush”, she says. And it is true: the ceramic café is packed with amateurs who come to discover the joy of ceramic painting although they have no background or skills in painting. And this is the very goal of the place: choosing a creative workshop for all that is both relaxing and feeling good.

Some people come to La Papoterie after work, others in the afternoon for a snack, or some for brunch, and at any time of the day, the menu features homemade goods – like all the cakes, excluding cookies from the bakery next door – or from local producers. The menu bets on local with craft beers and products originating from short delivery systems. For a snack, foodies will be delighted with the chocolate cake, the vanilla roll or the lukewarm chocolate-hazelnut cookie…

The café employees tell you how ceramic painting works and guide you, step by step if need be. In this ceramic café, the workshop fees are included in the piece or pieces you choose to paint. Once the 2.5 hours are over, you just have to wait two weeks before collecting your baked creation.
