An evening Sortiraparis was able to attend... Despite the stifling heat of this first day of summer, the concert was a roller coaster of emotions, with each artist singing a song from their own repertoire (with the exception of Bernard Lavilliers). The concert kicked off with a bang, with Abd Al Malik slamming a text by Victor Hugo... Powerful.
As for the line-up, there were plenty of surprises, with Camille offering a meaningful cover of France Gall's Résiste, and Thee Dian delivering a groovy and ever-topical version ofAngèle's Balance ton quoi. Alex Montembault delivered a touching version of Starmania's Ziggy, while Jeanne Added set the stage alight with her cover of 4 Non blonde' s What's Up.

And let's not forget Christine and the Queens with her interpretation of Marvin Gaye's What's Going on, Karen Ann 's absolutely masterful rendition of Niel Young' s Rockin' in the free world and Marco Prince' s crazy version of Trust'sAntisocial. Incredible orchestration, too, throughout the concert, imagined by Victor Le Masne, the daddy of the Paris 2024 Games music.

And the highlight of the show, of course, was the very first flight of the Paris 2024 cauldron, which has since lit up the capital like a beacon in the night, and will shine all summer long. All in all, a great evening for this fête de la musique, despite the heat. We'll be looking forward to next year's France Music Week, and maybe even to a new version of this concert.
