On the night of September 8-9, 2023, a devastating 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Morocco, particularly the High Atlas region. More than 2,000 deaths were reported and the number of injured is mounting in the aftermath of the tremor, while international aid is being organized to send in relief supplies. In the wake of this tragedy, French TV channel M6 announced that it would be broadcasting a major charity concert this Wednesday, September 13, in partnership with the Red Cross and in aid of the Moroccan Red Crescent, at 9.10pm.
The event, entitled"Tous avec le Maroc" ("All with Morocco"), will be filmed live from the Dôme de Paris, and is intended to show the support of France and the world of culture in this ordeal. Casablanca-born Gad Elmaleh is expected to take part, as he told BFMTV he was"trying to organize a gala or a show to get ready with a kitty, as big as possible", like other Franco-Moroccans.
Although we don't yet know what the program will be, many artists have been invited to gather on stage to sing their solidarity and appeal for donations. Last March, after the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, France 2 also broadcast a major solidarity concert.
