What if opera took center stage... right in the middle of a shopping mall? On Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 4 p.m., the clearing at 4 Temps will be in perfect harmony to host a free opera open to everyone, right in the heart of the La Défense shopping center. Yes, it’s free — no ticket required, and no dress code to worry about.
While half of 15-21-year-olds report feeling disconnected from cultural venues and find access to culture challenging, the LabOpéra in Hauts-de-Seine is rewriting the script with an accessible lyrical performance open to everyone.
On the bill: stunning excerpts from "The Magic Flute", Mozart’s most beloved opera. This reimagined version is set within a mythological universe of its own creation, where heroes with extraordinary powers emerge—drawing inspiration from childhood superheroes. On stage, 100 musicians and singers come together to deliver two immersive 20-minute performances: a captivating experience that builds intensity as you wander through the venue’s corridors.
Ready to hit the high notes? A singing workshop, available by registration, will be offered before the concert to train volunteers and give them a chance to join both the choir – and the orchestra – of the opera.
To conclude the evening, full performances of "The Magic Flute" will take place on Friday the 13th, Saturday the 14th, and Sunday the 15th of March at the Courbevoie Event Center.
