Considered one of the music festivals of which Bretons are most proud, Les Vieilles Charrues has been around since 1992, and has never ceased to surprise over the years. Created over 30 years ago, it has rapidly become France's biggest music festival in terms of paid admissions (242,000 admissions in 2010, around 5,500 volunteers in 2010), attracting a public drawn by its eclectic line-up and festive, convivial spirit.
From James Brown in 1997 to Bruce Springsteen in 2009, not forgetting Deep Purple, New Order, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and Arcade Fire, Les Vieilles Charrues has always attracted people to Brittany!
After a great edition in 2024, Les Vieilles Charrues returned to Carhaix in 2025 with an explosive line-up that once again drew large numbers of festival-goers! And with good reason: Alanis Morissette, Macklemore, Damiano David, Martin Solveig, Solann, Yoa, Tiakola, Hamza, Damso and Julien Doré put on a show for four consecutive days in Carhaix last summer.
From now on, all eyes will be on the 2026 edition, eagerly awaited by the many regular festival-goers. So, when is this new 34th edition due to take place? Mark your calendars: Les Vieilles Charrues will be back on the Kerampuilh site in Carhaix from Thursday, July 16 to Sunday, July 19, 2026.
What about the lineup? The first names for this 34th edition have been announced. In 2026, get ready to see Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds! The famous Australian dandy will be performing in Brittany on July 17, 2026, accompanied by his loyal musicians Warren Ellis, Colin Greenwood, Jim Sclavunos, George Vjestica, Larry Mullins, and Carly Paradis.
Who else is being announced for the 2026 lineup at the Vieilles Charrues? Rumors point to American pop superstar Katy Perry, renowned rappers Orelsan and Josman, legendary Jean-Louis Aubert, along with Gims, Mika, and Mosimann. And the surprises don't end there—confirmations include performances by Aya Nakamura, Interpol, Vanessa Paradis, Miossec, Patrick Watson, Danyl, and Cassius. As for tickets, they are already on sale.
Join us from July 16 to 19, 2026, in Carhaix for an exciting lineup of dozens of artists and bands, performing across four different stages over four days!
