The immersive theater is a new way of experiencing a show. This unusual genre makes the audience actors in the play, and the actors lead the audience into the heart of the adventure through thrilling scenarios. And for those with a passion for history, some of these works even invite us to immerse ourselves in the past, with re-enactments and historical characters that take us back in time.
And this spring-summer in Paris, an immersive play invites us to plunge into the heart of the Belle Epoque and takes us to meet an emblematic character: Mata Hari. An exotic dancer of Dutch origin, this femme fatale traveled throughout Europe, becoming a legendary spy and double agent before being convicted of treason.
But has Mata Hari revealed all her secrets? Entitled"La Dernière Danse de Mata Hari" (The Last Dance of Mata Hari), the immersive show awaiting us at Le Vieux Carré in Paris invites us to live an intriguing experience imagined by the La-Haut les Etoiles company. The scene is a 1916 party, in which you take part as a guest in the heart of this cosy cocktail bar. On arrival, you're given a new identity, and if you come in a group, expect to be potentially separated.
Over the course of the evening, the various plots in which the participants are involved intertwine, with each of them having their own unique experience, interspersed with scenes that act as cinemas. In this adventure, you interact with the various characters, are assigned missions and play along as you discover thehistory of Mata Hari. A total of four storylines await you on these evenings.
The experience also includes a choice of three exclusive alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktails created for this immersive show. The bar remains privatized for half an hour after the end of the show, so that participants and actors can enjoy a convivial chat before the Vieux Carré opens to the public.
If this could be your first time participating in an immersive play, we warn you: to get the most out of the experience, don't hesitate to get into the game and let go of your character. While we wait for the ticketing link, stay tuned!
