The Abbey of Royaumont

It is large and majestic, and above all very old! TheAbbey of Royaumont was founded in 1228, but it is not ready to retire. After a forced rest due to the confinement and the Coronavirus, it is back in service: the abbey awaits us since May 19, 2021 for beautiful walks through this historic monument and its park.

Located only 35 kilometers from Paris, theAbbey of Royaumont is waiting for us with impatience for its reopening. A new one-way route offers us an unusual visit and discovery of the place and its gardens. Thanks to this direction of circulation, you can admire the courtyard of the novices, condemned during the year 2020. The private part of the cloister, usually closed, is exceptionally visitable and the former chapter house is now open to all.

With a park of 6.5 hectares, walkers have plenty of room to stroll without entering their neighbors. The bookstore-boutique is also part of the party, you can go home with a nice souvenir of your stroll. Treat yourself:all the profits contribute to finance actions in favor of heritage, children and artists.

It is recommended to wear a mask and to respect the safety distances inside the building. Hydroalcoholic gel is available at the entrance and near the tactile multimedia panels.

Remember to prepare your visit in advance, ticket sales are preferably done online. The best thing to do is to come on weekends and holidays: free shuttles leave from the Luzarches station and take you to the Abbey. To take advantage of this service, take the train line H, leaving from the Gare du Nord and going to Luzarches. Shuttles are waiting for you there, but don't forget to reserve your seat.
