British artist Antony Gormley unveils his strange bodies in a groundbreaking exhibition of sculptures at the Musée Rodin, from October 17, 2023 to March 3, 2024.

His talent for bringing spaces to life and his fascinating, monumental works make Antony Gormley a highly interesting artist. The English sculptor is the star of the Critical Mass exhibition, organized at the Musée Rodin from October 17, 2023 to March 3, 2024. A not-to-be-missed exhibition for all lovers of contemporary art!

The exhibition stretches from the museum to the garden: sixty human-sized sculptures are installed in an astonishing itinerary. Inspired by the work of Auguste Rodin, Antony Gormley has tested, innovated and sought new ways of expressing the body, bringing these unusual creations to life. In the various spaces of the museum, we discover sculptures installed opposite works by Rodin, suspended from the ceiling, leaning against walls...

The English artist worked around 12 human poses and attitudes. From this base, the sculptor questioned the body's relationship to its environment, to the space that surrounds it. What's the difference between a seated, crouching, crawling or upright body? What emotions and feelings arise from these natural positions?

Antony Gormley 's bodies face each other, mix and sometimes clash, creating installations that are funny, fascinating or absurd. Exhibited alongside works by Rodin, they seem to question their counterparts: a dialogue develops between the modern and the ancient.

The exhibition also presents various creations that play with matter, space, air... The artist also reveals the behind-the-scenes aspects of his work, exhibiting molds, sketchbooks, studies... These pieces allow us to better appreciate the works and discover their genesis.

The British artist experiments with and questions the place of the body in the art of sculpture. With his bodies, the Englishman investigates the limits of art and realism, and the way in which immobile matter tells the story of the living. Studies and molds help us better understand Gormley's creative process.

Don't miss this wonderful exhibition in Paris this autumn!
