The Archeological Crypt presents an exhibition that's as curious as it is entertaining, revealing objects found in the Seine, from prehistory to the present day. Visit this unique exhibition from January 31, 2024, until the end of the year.

" Paris was born, as we all know, on the old Île de la Cité, which is shaped like a cradle. The strike of this island was its first enclosure, the Seine its first moat ", wrote Victor Hugo in his novel Notre-Dame de Paris. In fact, the Parisian river has always been at the heart of the city, from prehistoric times to the present day.

A very special river, which has seen many people pass through it, and which has welcomed even more waste... The Seine hides a wealth of curious artefacts in its waters, all telling thestory of the city in their own way.

The exhibition also provides an opportunity to learn more aboutarchaeology, the scientific methods used to date and identify these remains, and the technologies developed to present them to the public.
