Since 1896, 33 Olympiads have been held around the world. To mark the Paris 2024 Games, the Palais de la Porte Dorée is retracing their history and behind-the-scenes in a retrospective exhibition, from April 26 to September 8, 2024.

It's the event of theyear 2024 in France and in Paris: the arrival of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the capital, exactly 100 years after their predecessors. Since the Athens Olympics in 1896, 33 events have taken place, every four years, sometimes prevented by the global context, sometimes marred by crises. This exhibition, presented by the Palais de la Porte Dorée from April 26 to September 8, 2024, traces thehistory of the Games, behind the scenes and in the making, over the past 130 years!

Nearly 400 works, documents, archive films and photographs recount the struggles of leading sports figures, men and women to make the Games more egalitarian and inclusive, over the decades, from the arrival of women, aboriginals and people with disabilities at the Olympics.
