Maitre Yoga, a free sensory exhibition on well-being at UNESCO House

For a few days in June, UNESCO is hosting an exhibition on the practice and benefits of yoga. Take advantage of Maitre Yoga's advice to become real yogis!

To mark the tenth anniversary of International Yoga Day, the Maison de l'UNESCO invites you to discover a playful exhibition on this age-old practice, from June 14 to 23, 2024. This free experience is led by Maitre Yoga, who guides you through the art and history of yoga, through contemplative moments and practical exercises, in three distinct spaces: life in movement, yoga potential and inner ecology.

To begin with, like a bridge between the outside and the inside, a mosaic of yoga mats undulates and guides visitors through the exhibition, who move at their own pace, in a sensory space with sound immersion linked to yogic breathing. Next, you'll have the opportunity to learn all about yoga, a Sanskrit word meaning "to be one with oneself", and a discipline that has evolved over almost 5,000 years, in the midst of works of art.

The image of the yogi has changed a great deal, from the ascetic of times gone by to the modern man and woman who do their after-work session to unwind from their day and regenerate. Visitors can also try out a range of practices alongside our teachers, to understand the benefits of yoga and experiment with a combination of personal development and spiritual practice.
