Located in Boulogne-Billancourt, the Musée Départemental Albert-Kahn houses an astonishing collection of photographs that make up the"Archives de la planète": an inventory of living things, a phenomenal project whose aim was to immortalize and show the world as it was at the beginning of the 20th century.
Leveraging this heritage, the museum has launched its own photography festival, designed to keep alive the spirit and dream of the collector, while giving prominent space to contemporary artists. From May 20 to September 20, 2026, visitors can admire in the museum’s garden the works of 11 contemporary photographers, showcased as part of the festival Mondes en commun.
The festival's theme, the visual inventory of the world, offers a new reading of the Archives de la Planète's collection of photographs and films, featuring contemporary works that capture reality in all its diversity, in connection with the museum's collections—from popular traditions to the natural world, and including historical heritage.
An artistic and poetic rendezvous that should appeal to many photography enthusiasts!
