The enchanting landscapes of Mývatn, the incredible glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón, the mysterious Snæfellsnes peninsula, the incredible waterfalls of Skógafoss, Gulfoss, Dettifoss and Dynjandi, not forgetting the Vatnajökull ice cap... It's hard to list all the natural treasures Iceland has to offer. Every year, this small island country in northern Europe attracts more and more visitors who love nature and breathtaking scenery.
Photographers also flock to the area to capture some incredible shots. Such is the case of Karin Ansara. This Franco-Finnish photographer has been devoting herself to her passion, photography, for over 40 years. Karin Ans ara has specialized in architectural photography, producing various reports for the specialized press. She has even won awards for her work on traditional Finnish houses.
But Karin Ansara is also passionate about landscapes, in this case those of Iceland, a country for which she has a deep attachment. From January 2 to April 30, 2025, Karin Ansara will be exhibiting several of her photographs taken during her various trips to Iceland. Thanks to her undeniable technique, she reveals a very special sensitivity, while offering us an immersion in the lands of this fascinating country.
The small exhibition " Singularités islandaises" (Icelandic Singularities ) can be viewed free of charge at theInstitut Mutualiste Montsouris, in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. The photos are on display in the hospital's consultation corridor. All the works on display are for sale. Part of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the Fonds de Dotation Montsouris, to help finance the hospital's activities.
