Attention architecture, design and immersive experience fans! In anticipation of the opening of the David Hockney, 25 exhibition on April 9, 2025, the Fondation Louis Vuitton invites you to go behind the scenes of Frank Gehry's masterpiece. From February 26 to April 6, 2025, explore the building from a new angle thanks to the Frank Gehry Architectural Trail and theVR 2025 Experience.
For just €5, the Fondation Louis Vuitton reveals all its facets! Through micro-visits and family activities, discover the secrets of this contemporary monument, its panoramic terraces and its revolutionary architecture.
As you enter, the Studio welcomes you under a skylight flooded with light. Here, an original model and two video projections set the scene: welcome to the visionary world of Frank Gehry. Models, photographs, films, sketches, engravings... Each level reveals a stage in the building's architectural design. Materials, design, integration into the Bois de Boulogne and the Jardin d'Acclimatation, it's all there. Special mention must be made of the central staircase, where the raw, ship's-hull steel highlights the first sketches of the project, a true tribute to the creative gesture of the architect, winner of the 1989 Pritzker Prize.
Along the way, works by Katharina Grosse, Olafur Eliasson and Adrián Villar Rojas are integrated into the spaces, between sculptures, light installations and sound creations.
Why not take to the skies? At the same time, theVR experience takes you on an extraordinary architectural expedition. Helmet on, transform yourself into a giant, fly over the Fondation and climb to the top of its glass sails for an unprecedented view of the building. In an exclusive sequence, Frank Gehry's initial sketch appears before your very eyes, as if drawn in real time. What's more, the permanent works are now integrated into the model, giving you an even deeper understanding of the architectural ensemble.
Guided by a cultural mediator, this virtual session (accessible from age 11, for €2 in addition to the admission ticket) is followed by a real-life micro-tour of the building's architecture, from the waterfall to the terraces, booked directly on site at the Auditorium.
