Street art invites itself to an atypical Île-de-France venue just a few days before the start of summer! On Saturday June 14 and Sunday June 15, 2025, the town of Montreuil welcomes RUR 93 for the first time. Organized for four years in Nogent-le-Rotrou, Eure-et-Loir, the RUR 93 urban art festival is coming to Seine-Saint-Denis for an edition billed as " unprecedented ".
To make their mark, the event's co-organizers - Nicolas Caudmont du RUR, Kholab and Urban Signature - are banking on an original venue: the District Training Zone. Located in the city of Montreuil, this former aluminum foundry has been converted into a gym, featuring boxing, MMA, CrossFit, Cross Training and yoga. Covering an area of 600 sq. m., the District features a number of different spaces, each of which has been enhanced by the work of over 70 artists!
While a series of murals and animations are to be discovered throughout the site, the indoor hall of the District Training Zone hosts a small exhibition orchestrated by Urban Signature. DJ sets in the middle of the MMA cage, participatory workshops, a thrift shop and a food court will also set the pace for the weekend.
In terms of artists, the RUR 93 urban art festival confirms the presence of several emerging names, as well as those already known to the general public, such as Ardif, Jo Di Bona, Toctoc, Remi Cierco, Horss, Louyz, Le CyKlop, Mathieu 1976 and Panpan, with whom Nicolas launched RUR in Le Perche.
On Thursday June 12, we were given an exclusive preview of the site and its frescoes. And what a pleasure it was to see all these artists take over this atypical Seine-Saint-Denis location. This weekend, get ready to feast your eyes on the frescoes on the building's exterior facade, in the inner courtyard and in the sparring room, as well as in parts previously closed to the public. In the near future, the Montreuil District Training Zone will house a restaurant and a rooftop. In the meantime, many street artists have been invited to decorate the walls of these still-under-construction venues. Here you can admire works by Demoiselle mm, Lapin Mutant and L'empreinte Jo V.
Most of them will disappear once the work is completed. But others are permanent, like this sublime creation by Jo Di Bona in the main hall, where members train. From the basement to the first floor, these frescoes should appeal to urban art lovers, of course, but also to the curious in search of unusual and convivial outings to enjoy with friends or family. It's also an opportunity to discover the artistic diversity of the practice and the talent of these artists.
And to extend the experience, RUR 93 has invited a dozen artists to take over the surrounding walls. Visit N°126 rue Ernest Savart to admire works by Cannibal Letters & Dante, Ben Alpha and Kaldea. Continuing down the street, you'll come across (at N°1 rue des Epernons) an ultra-colorful fresco by Shupa One. Don't miss the work of Sabrina Beretta (3 boulevard Aristide Briand) or Cruz Peanuts (2 rue du Docteur Roger Brandon).
More good news: admission is free, so it would be a shame not to take advantage! If you'd like to discover the first edition of RUR 93, head to the District Training Zone in Montreuil, on Saturday June 14, 2025 from 10am to 8pm, and again on Sunday June 15 from 10am to 7pm.
