Quantum physics is a complex scientific theory that studies and describes the behavior of matter at a scale invisible to the naked eye. This science, obscure to many of us, can be as poetic as it is moving. That is at least what the artist Laure Prouvost seeks to demonstrate with her original installation, presented at the Grand Palais from June 10 to July 26, 2026.
The exhibition Nous, frissons d'étoile brings together video, sound, scents and light to form a hypnotic showcase that pulls us into a new realm—the world of the infinitesimally small, where perspectives flip and shift constantly.
This enigmatic installation embodies the kind of existence that scientists and artists observe with such close attention: the work is at once powerful and fragile, cosmic and earthly, whimsical and grounded in rigorous research...
Laure Prouvost collaborated with researcher Hartmut Neven and philosopher Tobias Rees. Building on imagery produced by a quantum computer, the artist conceived new visuals and soundscapes inspired by these unpredictable, astonishing atomic systems.
This installation is to be experienced more than described: Laure Prouvost invites us to step into her poetic universe and its surprises, for an exhibition like no other.
The exhibition Nous, frissons d'étoile is part of the Grand Palais's summer program.
