If you’re wandering through the Kellermann district in late September 2026, you might stumble upon something surprising along the way... The company Courant d'Art Frais invites visitors of all ages to come and marvel at its giant puppets at Espace Bièvre in Paris’s 13th arrondissement.
From September 21–25, 2026, these puppets are on display at this cultural and exchange venue near Parc Kellermann. The exhibition is free, visitors can discover colorful and festive puppets that symbolize different cultures or animals.
But that's not all! On Saturday, September 26, from 3:00 p.m., curious visitors can attend the grand parade of giant puppets. The procession starts at Espace Bièvre and spotlights the 2026 puppet collection from Courant d'Art Frais. These creations were crafted by residents of the Kellermann neighborhood and tenants of the APF France Handicap residence.
The company is thus highlighting this artistic and festive collaboration with this parade familiale — a good-natured, family-friendly event — that should brighten up this September Saturday.
But really, what exactly is a giant puppet? You’ve probably seen a puppet show, those dolls you hold with one hand or on a string. Well, it’s basically the same... Except these giant puppets stand between two and four meters tall! The puppeteer is hidden inside the costume’s body and moves the head and limbs using internal rods.
