Art Basel 2026: A monumental installation on the Parvis des Droits de l'Homme in Paris

You may have noticed this curious phenomenon during your strolls around Paris. During the month of October, sculptures and installations bloom on every corner of the city. These works often form part of the off‑site programming of the Art Basel fair: an accessible arts program that puts contemporary art in the spotlight in the capital.

Art Basel brings together artists and galleries from around the world at the Grand Palais, from October 23 to 25, 2026. Alongside the fair, contemporary art exhibitions are mounted in museums, galleries, and even outdoors. Each year, several installations are to be discovered in the streets, squares, and gardens of the city, delighting contemporary art enthusiasts.

In 2026, from October 14 to November 1, we’ll meet on the Parvis des Droits de l'Homme, between the Cité de l'Architecture and the Musée de la Marine, on the Trocadéro square. There, facing the Eiffel Tower, visitors can admire the installation by British artist Tracey Emin.

Photographer, draughtswoman, sculptor, performer, filmmaker... Tracey Emin is a versatile artist who has evolved considerably over her career, capturing the attention of audiences and peers alike. She is known for her striking, at times provocative works that lay bare strong, raw emotions. On the Parvis des Droits de l'Homme in Paris, Emin aims to spotlight the female body, desire, resilience, and the strength that can reshape it. Three large statues of women's bodies are unveiled, depicted in suggestive and intimate poses.
