Brèches: the free large-format photography trail to discover at La Défense

Brèches transforms the façades and walls of La Défense into photographic surfaces. This free trail by Les Extatiques brings together works by Marine Lanier, Elsa Leydier, Julien Lombardi and SMITH in the business district.

Waves on a church façade, plant imagery at the foot of the Grande Arche and rocky landscapes in the business district: Brèches takes photography out of the exhibition halls.

This tour of Les Extatiques, conceived by COAL for Paris La Défense, brings together four artists. Their images are displayed on walls, glass surfaces and features of the public space, at a scale that engages with the district’s architecture.

On Notre-Dame-de-Pentecôte and the Information Point, Marine Lanier presents photographs from her series Les Vagues, taken along the Rhône. The movements of the water take on another dimension when displayed on the buildings.

In Pasithée, Elsa Leydier works with images of plants and faces, whose film has been transformed using herbal infusions. Julien Lombardi presents two installations from Planeta, spanning the Sonoran Desert and the observation of rocks.

Finally, the photographs by SMITH, from Dami (Fulmen), reveal bodies and landscapes through a thermal camera. Four approaches come together to explore photography on a stroll through the neighborhood.
