The Raymond Hains installation, presented by the Fondation Cartier at Place du Palais-Royal in Paris, is scheduled to run through October 26, 2026. A photographic tour of the Grand Louvre construction site, before its dismantling.

Raymond Hains takes over the Place du Palais-Roural through October 26, 2026 with The Work in Progress. From the Grand Louvre to the 3 Cartier. Presented by the Fondation Cartier, this public-art installation marks the artist's centenary.

The project reactivates a body of work conceived in 1994. Photographs taken on the Grand Louvre construction site between 1981 and 1991 are presented within structures inspired by advertising panels. Pipes, stacks of slabs, and fencing become the subjects of this photographic intervention, just a few steps from the Louvre.

To discover it, head to Place du Palais-Royal in the 1st arrondissement, near the Palais-Royal–Musée du Louvre station. The outdoor display is scheduled from June 9 to October 26. The Valois Gallery wing closed on October 4.

The dismantling is scheduled from October 26 to 29 and will temporarily affect traffic on the even-numbered side of the square, between Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint-Honoré. To experience the installation before the work begins, plan your visit in the days leading up to it.
