Do you know the Théâtre Municipal de Fontainebleau? This jewel in the Seine-et-Marne region boasts one of the few Italian-style theaters in the Ile-de-France region. We take you on a tour of its treasures and history.

The Théâtre municipal de Fontainebleau, not to be confused with the Théâtre Impérial du Château de Fontainebleau in the Seine-et-Marne region, is one of the finest examples of Italian-style theater in the Paris region. Inaugurated in 1912, this Louis XIII-style building, listed as a historic monument, continues to fascinate with its architecture and rich programming.

Built from 1905 onwards by architects Fernand Lucas and Paul Marion, the theater stands a stone's throw from the Château de Fontainebleau. Its stone and brick facade, bordered by an elegant raised terrace, already sets the tone: monumental and refined.
