Be ready to quiver! These September 8 and 9, 2018 the France’s Flying Warbird organizes its Paris Air Legend with the Un Dakota sur la Normandie association, and the Association des Mécaniciens Pilotes d’Aéronefs Anciens [Association of pilots-mechanics of ancient aircrafts] at Melun-Villaroche airdrome.
This airdrome is used all year long. Among the kept planes, DC 3, Hurel-Dubois HD-34, Junker 52, Mystère IV, Lysander, Skyraider, Tiger Moth, Nord 1101, T-6, Broussard Hydravion Latécoère 28, Stormovick, Didier Chable and some former pilots and mechanics from the Centre d’Essais en Vol.
Together, they gather 60 planes including 45 warbirds, legendary planes, for some they’ve rarely been in France or even never before. Boeing Stearman, Consolidated PBY Catalina (yes, the famous flying boat), Alpha Jet PAF, Douglas DC-3, Dassault MD 312 Flamant and the Rafale Marine will be there all weekend long, including air demonstration.
War planes lovers will be over the moon because the F86/E SABRE, icon of the Korean war, never presented in any air meeting in Europe will be present as well as the famous France’s Patrol demonstrating on Saturday and a flight on Sunday!
On the ground, many entertainments are planned for children and adults: a singer band (the “Satin Doll Sisters”), gastronomic stands, bookstores and stores, reconstitutions of military bivouacs, ancient vehicles, etc.
And for those who’d found that an Air Show is only a feast for the eyes, first times in helicopters, simulators and Ducati and Can Am motorbikes tests gets everyone to agree on the usefulness of a great air meeting at the doors of Paris!
