With over 2,500 species and varieties of trees living side by side, forming the richest tree collection in Europe, the Arboretum de Versailles-Chèvreloup is a unique site, managed by the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle and awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label. From April, when the cherry and magnolia trees are in bloom, to spring, when the magnificent rhododendrons and red chestnut trees are in full bloom, and autumn, when the shimmering colors of the trees range from yellow to red, the Arboretum is a great place to stroll, relax and recharge your batteries, alone, with friends or family.

Over its 200 hectares of natural and landscaped areas, it features a collection of trees from temperate and cold climates, all of which thrive in the Île-de-France climate. TheArboretum de Versailles-Chèvreloup regularly takes part in the national"Rendez-vous aux Jardins" event. The French can come and stroll through the most beautiful gardens around them, and discover natural sites that are sometimes closed to the public. The Arboretum is home to a collection of trees from near and far! This year, to coincide with the Rendez-vous in the garden, we're hosting an exhibition on the use of trees in food. A treasure hunt will be available at reception to help youngsters discover the exhibition.
The Arboretum de Versailles-Chèvreloup is home to a collection of trees, but not only. Two greenhouse structures are also on site. They are only open to the public on guided tours. For the Rendez-vous in the garden, part of the fragrant pelargonium collection will be installed in the exhibition room of the reception pavilion. The mediation team will be on hand to help you discover the olfactory subtleties of this collection.
