Futuroscope expands! In 2024, the theme park near Poitiers is launching Aquascope, a brand-new park combining water and new image technologies. We were able to visit the construction site. We give you the lowdown!

Futuroscope water park coming soon! Since 2020, the theme park has embarked on a major overhaul of its facilities, with the opening of two new theme hotels, a new entrance and a new, more modern esplanade, but also, and above all, a new water park, scheduled to open in 2024. CalledAquascope, this smaller-capacity water park promises hours of fun in areas combining pools, slides and visual immersions using new technologies.

The park is currently under construction, and we were able to visit the site. "Aquascope is more than just a park: it's the meeting point between water and images," explained Futuroscope project managerQuentin Duport during our visit. And that's what makes this water park so unique: to offer an experience in the DNA of Futuroscope, combining entertainment and new technologies for an unrivalled immersion experience! He continues: "Everyone knows thatwater and digital technology don't mix naturally". That's why the teams worked with a number of specialist companies to achieve this feat.

On paper, it works, but we'll have to wait for the work to be completed, the first tests to be carried out and, for visitors, the opening, to see how successful it is. Aquascope will be open to visitors all year round, except in January, when the resort is closed for the year. With a capacity of 1,700 visitors per day in the summer thanks to its outdoor pool (1,400 in winter), the park stands out for its originality and comprehensive offering. At Aquascope, each visitor is immersed in his or her own world, according to his or her own desires.

There are three different zones: Immersion, Sensation and Distraction. "The Immersion zone is really the pure Futuroscope product," explains Quentin Duport. It's a zone offering an experience combining water and video through various cycles throughout the day, transforming the space and immersing you in a virtual aquatic world in constant evolution, around the elements.

As for the other two zones, Sensation, as its name suggests, is the thrill zone, with numerous slides, a wave pool and a refreshing bar. Finally, Distraction is a family zone, with a children's area and slides for all ages. And don't forget to say hello to the park's mascot, Kraki (name subject to change before opening)!

What's so special about this park? Revolutionary immersive technology! Thanks to a collaboration with Moment Factory, a Canadian company, Aquascope is also planning a unique aquatic cinema experience called"Ciné bouée". As for the park's flagship slide, created by Polin, it will literally plunge you into the image, for a descent rich in sensations and emotions. A total of eight serpentine infrastructures await you, for all ages, all tastes and, above all, all sensations!

"With Aquascope, we've had a twofold objective from the outset: to attract visitors from further afield, and for longer," added Rodolphe Bouin , Chairman of Futuroscope's Management Board, at a press conference . A new water park should contribute to this objective. Opening in 2024!
