For the third time, the Quart d'heure de lecture is coming to your homes on March 12, 2024. 15 minutes of reading to encourage people to read a little, but regularly, every day!

This is the third year that the event is taking place across France, on March 12, 2024. The Quart d'heure de lecture is an opportunity to read a book of your choice for 15 minutes, and to rediscover - or create - a habit of immersing yourself in the wonderful world of literature on a more regular basis. By 2022, over 2,000 schools, associations, libraries and companies had taken part in this literary movement.

Régine Hatchondo, President of the Centre National du Livre, hopes to make the French"a people of readers". While it is sometimes difficult to find the time to read in everyday life, the Quart d'heure invites citizens to take a few minutes out, take some time for themselves and develop the pleasure of reading. This event has been introduced in schools, to make regular reading a habit. Why not join us?

Anyonecan take part: all you need to do on Tuesday March 12 is have a book by your side, whether it's a manga, a novel, an essay or any other genre, to complete the challenge. We're counting on you to carry on after today! And if you'd like to experience this moment in community, the Centre national du livre website lists participating venues near you.
