The unusual walks of Fontânebleau, to discover the forest with donkeys

By combining her two passions for hiking and donkeys, Virginie, the creator of Fontânebleau, offers a concept that is both original and family-friendly, to discover the forest of Fontainebleau, where she has settled with her family.

For fifteen years, she has been taking care of her donkeys, so she quickly started to go on hikes with them, to drive them... To finally propose it to the general public since a few months. Come and meet Marguerite, Hirondelle and Laïos, her three long-eared boarders, for a nice walk in the forest, with or without the children.

On the program, you can opt for a hike of 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours: Virginie proposes several of her favorite circuits (the tour of the white mountain, the tour of the cailleau rock, the cathedral rock), with a progressive price according to the duration of the hike (15 € for one hour, 20 € for two hours, 25 € for three hours, 30 € for four hours). For children who don't like to walk too much, there is even the possibility to have a snack with Marguerite (15 € per child), while taking care of the donkey. Otherwise, you could combine sculpture and hiking: you prepare your sculpture under the watchful eye of a professional sculptor, then you go hiking with the donkeys to finish your work of art once you arrive in a natural site. Count 65 € per person for 4 hours of activities.

To experience a truly complete immersion not far from the forest, Virginie also offers a guest room (with double bed, couple with babies accepted, 2 adults maximum) to completely cut off from Parisian life and feel on vacation for a weekend. The formula includes two two-hour hikes with the donkeys, the night and the breakfast: enough to spend a beautiful stay in the heart of the Ile-de-France nature (150 € for two people).
