On the program for this year's Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024:

  • Visit the park at Château de Bourron
    Sunday, June 2, 2:00 p.m.

Prestigious 17th-century château in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest. Listed as a historic monument and surrounded by a white-water moat, this elegant residence offers a timeless setting.

The walled park of Château de Bourron extends over 40 hectares of lawns and woods, in the extension of the Fontainebleau forest. It reveals a few surprises: hidden behind the little house, the romantic Neolithic spring known as Source Saint-Sévère, which gives rise to the canal; the statue of Ceres that closes off the northern parterre, that of Saint Joseph by Fernand Py beneath the trees and the Maison d'Artagnan. But the major axis of this French-style park remains the grand perspective, led to the south by the canal and the lime-tree avenues that give the Château de Bourron all its grandeur. Listed in the supplementary inventory in 1926 and classified as a historic monument since 1971.
