For fans of cultural events, the Rendez-Vous aux Jardins is a must-attend event in spring. Every year, this green cultural event takes place in the four corners of Paris and theÎle-de-France region, offering visits, often free of charge, as well as events including workshops and concerts in both private and public parks and gardens.
Numerous venues are ready to play their part: castles, museums, major institutions and other fascinating places are opening their doors to us, sometimes in exceptional circumstances, for a weekend of cultural outings in the great outdoors. One of the museums taking part in the Rendez-Vous aux Jardins is the Musée Jean-Jacques Rousseau in the town of Montmorency, in the Val d'Oise. Located in a small house in which the famous writer and philosopher stayed to escape the noisy capital, this museum, which has been awarded the Maison des Illustres label, follows in the footsteps of this literary figure.
On the occasion of the Rendez-vous aux jardins, a contemporary art exhibition opens in the Museum garden:
Les Passeurs de rêves. Marianne Le Vexier.
The exhibition invites visitors to take a dreamlike journey to resonate with the garden so beloved of the philosopher.
For a few months, Marianne Le Vexier will be remodeling Jean-Jacques Rousseau's garden. Melliferous plants surround certain sculptures, allowing her chimerical silhouettes to mingle with real bees and butterflies.
Between figuration and abstraction, her works prove to be gateways to the world of dreams. Like an Ariadne's thread, the journey guides us through the labyrinth of our own imaginations.
