The Champs-Elysées keeps on changing and the world’s most beautiful avenue is back to its former glory thanks to the arrival of a new generation of quality restaurants. The latest culinary gem is to be discovered in rue de Berri. This is where you will find Le Bayadère, the restaurant where chef Khalid Mansour – a talent to keep an eye on – works.
Nestled in Hôtel Elysia, Le Bayadère is an ode to the French art de vivre making the fame of Paris. here, enjoy a soft and bright restaurant inspired by Parisian flats in an elegant, sophisticated but warm atmosphere. Seat and enjoy the place’s calming charm before browsing through the menu.
Then, you decide between the market’s menu – put up every day according to the chef’s inspiration. And on this hot day, we start with a burrata di Pugliese served with strawberries, a very summer-inspired pairing! We also went for the tuna tartare with Chinese cabbage and Osaka vinaigrette, a very fresh starter available off the menu to whet the appetite.
For the dish of the day, we are served oyster and shiitake mushroom ravioli served with clams, a wonderful surf and turf dish leaving no doubt: this is definitely 100% homemade. We also ordered the wild seabass infused with lime thyme, sundried tomato compote and zucchini flowers stuffed with vegetables and basil. Once again, we are impressed with how fresh ingredients are, the balance of flavors and textures, between the fish smooth meat and the slightly crunchy but juicy vegetables. We pair this delicious seabass with a glass of white wine, Obladie du Clos des Nines, from Isabelle Mangeart‘s vineyard, a winemaking and committed woman.
We are convinced by the commitment behind Le Bayadère cuisine. They all bet on sustainable farming, fishing, and meats from thoroughly selected farms. In addition to these tasty dishes, the restaurant also serves a more classic (looking) snacking offer, but it is worth the bite! We highly encourage you try the chicken club sandwich Khalid Mansour’s style: you will be delighted!
Let us now move on to dessert, and here is a spoiler: it is flawless. We finish the menu of the day as we started it with strawberry galore, now paired with vanilla ice cream, meringue, and a bit of bitterness, a pairing enabling to balance sugar and bring a bit of peps. If you love chocolate, you really do not want to miss the Valrhona Grand Cru chocolate tart. The nice taste of cocoa is incredible in this pastry very low in sugar and served warm. When cutting it, chocolate drips on the plate and we fall in love from the very first bite!
Here is how to put an end to this tasting. We promise you will enjoy a delicious culinary experience, for a good quality-price ratio in this chic and gourmet restaurant. For lunch, a starter and main course or main course and dessert menu is available for €29. For a menu including starter, main course, and dessert, allow €37. We must hail the balance of doses enabling to make the most of your lunch without feeling heavy afterwards.
