For this fourth edition, slated for Monday, November 30, 2026, the landmark will transform into a colossal party backdrop, with dancing, music and performances. Note that the official ticket office opens on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM, so save the date in your calendar—it’s expected to fly off the shelves.
From Louis XIV to today, the palace has hosted a string of unforgettable fêtes. On June 30, 1923, to celebrate the completion of its restoration, it staged a "Marvelous Party" that has stayed in the memory. A century later, the Bal du Siècle sustains the era’s free, elegant spirit, becoming over the years a quintessential winter rendezvous in Versailles.
Fringed gowns, pearls, feathers, tuxedos and bow ties: here, what you wear is part of the show. The mission stays the same year after year: to plunge guests into the mood of the 1920s, a blend of refined elegance and unabashed extravagance.
More than just a ball, the event is experienced as an immersive experience through the château's iconic spaces. The evening unfolds from the Galerie des Batailles to the Grand Appartements du Roi et de la Reine, passing through the legendary Galerie des Glaces, with each venue becoming the backdrop for a different moment.
Once you've crossed the threshold, the stage is set for the iconic dances of the Roaring Twenties. Charleston, tango, foxtrot or waltz: whether you're a seasoned dancer, a novice, or just curious, the professional dancers are on hand to demonstrate a few steps before leading everyone onto the floor.
As the evening unfolds, guests enjoy a glass of champagne on arrival at the Salon d'Hercule, a dance demonstration in the Galerie des Glaces, a concert in the Salle Marengo, open activities in the Grands Appartements, and a tour of the Salles Empire. The Grand Bal then brings the Galerie des Batailles to life, before the fireworks at 23:45 are watched from the Galerie des Glaces. After midnight, the party keeps going with contemporary music, as an after carries on until 1:30.
Dress code is non-negotiable. For men, the château requests a look inspired by the Roaring Twenties or a tuxedo with a bow tie and dress shoes. For women, a flapper-inspired outfit, a ball gown, or a prestige evening dress is expected. Masks are not allowed, and there is no on-site changing area. Entry will be refused to anyone not meeting the dress code, so plan your outfit in advance.
The evening unfolds in three increasingly premium packages (Saphir ticket, Rubis ticket, and Diamant ticket) that differ by door-opening times, accessible spaces, and included perks such as a buffet-cocktail dinner and unlimited champagne.
