From 2 to 26 May 2017, the Hotel de Vendôme’s "1 place Vendôme" restaurant is transformed into a sophisticated boudoir. Indeed, in partnership with Nina’s Tea House, they offer an afternoon tea dedicated to the celebrated Empress, Marie-Antoinette.
The hotel’s female pastry chef, Louise Wolmer, came up with a ravishing sweet creation named "Marie-Antoinette" featuring elixirs of yesteryear.
It is made of a thin white chocolate sphere, covering a moist tea-flavored cake, a rose cream, candied apples with a light black-tea whipped cream and edible rose petals. In tribute to the Empress, a delicate chocolate cameo of her features lays on this pastry as beautiful to watch as it is to eat. And let’s not forget the edible gold leaf, the best of this feminine cake.
To go alongside this delicate and flavored cake, Nina’s Tea House, founded in 1672 by Pierre Diaz, the "Magician of Aromas", offers you a range of flavored teas.
Of course, you should not miss the exquisite Marie-Antoinette tea, flavored with roses and fresh apples from the King’s Kitchen Garden of Versailles.
If you would like to know more, Nina’s is within walking distance from the Place Vendôme and welcomes you in a timeless setting, takings us back to the Empress’s time.
The tea afternoon is worth €35 euro and you will enjoy the Marie-Antoinette pastry served with a Nina’s tea.
The Hôtel de Vendôme offers you a tasty and sophisticated break in its "1 Place Vendôme" restaurant and from 2 to 26 May 2017 and promises a gustatory trip with its succulent pastry and its delightfully flavored tea!
