Are you looking for a unique experience in Paris? We discovered the Paren(the)se at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, a tea time offer as beautiful as delicious provided daily at the Cheminée lounge of Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme. Here is the promise of warming up or relaxing after a shopping session throughout Parisian streets. You can also enjoy the patio as soon as fine days are back to get a tan far from the city’s hustle and bustle!
On the menu, a traditional 3-level tea time tray with savory petit-fours, pastries and the famous scones, a full meal in the afternoon!
In France, tea time, eaten as a lunch/afternoon snack, starts with savory treats, and those are beautiful to watch. The chef cooked us a fresh vegetable julienne with a tomato bread, a salmon quiche and whipped cream, served with a cream cheese roll. Petit-fours are very good, but you better choose in what order you want to eat everything or you might find the roll a bit too cold and the vegetables’ taste lost in the cream.
Then, our favorite moment is happening: it is now time to enjoy the dry-fruit scone, a perfect transition toward sweet treats (isn’t it amazing?). Jimmy Mornet’s gooey and soft scone is served with clotted cream, jam and spread! Even if the scone is very smooth, it cannot beat the French puffed brioche which is not too fat nor too sweet (according to our taste!). You should enjoy it whilst sipping a choice of hot beverages, we chose a coffee with whipped cream!
Once we were settled in comfy chairs, we must confess we needed 15 minutes to motivate ourselves to follow the savoring: 5 small pastries as delicious as good-looking were waiting for us! After we heard the composition, we knew we would love it.
Particular attention shall be drawn to the Plume, a macadamia, white coffee and banana pastry which reminded us the wonderful banoffee; the Moaï and its lemony flavors shaking up the mouth (yuzu, lemon) and the mango-coconut fake cracked egg. If we only knew that a doggy bag was available to continue the savoring at home, we might have avoided this excess!
The tea time can be served with a fruit cocktail high in vitamins, such as the High Five (apple, mango, passion fruit, ginger and yellow lemon) or the Better Red (apple, carrot, beetroot, ginger and Boldo infusion) or what about a glass of champagne at €20 for special occasions.
Although the tea time is quite expensive, €45 for a 10-piece tray and a choice of hot beverages, you should know that it is a good idea to treat your friends or beloved ones for a special occasion.
