The Musée de Montmartre houses a wonderful bucolic and luxuriant garden. Café-terrasse Renoir, that used to be reserved for the museum visitors, is now opening to all of you for €5 only at the entrance or €10 for the annual pass (and of course, the good deal is the annual pass to come all summer long).
If you find yourself hanging around the Sacré Coeur, don’t miss this kind of tea room with a certain charm. At peace, far from the traffic, you’re offered a refreshing and gourmet break within a genuine garden. Please note that you can take a walk and discover, at the back of the garden, a wonderful view of the Butte, onto the Vigne du Clos Montmartre.
Café Renoir offers us a lovely travel back in time. It's inspired by Renoir's work. As a matter of fact and for the record, the café has been inspired by the famous glass ceiling that inspired Auguste Renoir to paint Le Bal du Moulin de la Galette in 1876.
For this summer 2019, Café Renoir enjoys a brand-new menu betting on freshness and sharing with products from French artisans. For instance, the charcuterie comes from Maison Loste, PDO Comté from Jura and cookies from Berthe & Perrin. Salads and pastries all come from Rachel's and savory and sweet cakes as well as madeleines, from Japanese pastry chef Ryotaro.
And since you're at it, how about discovering the "Georges Dorignac, Corps & âmes" exhibition (it has A/C), an unknown artist who deserves to be known. His singular and surprising work reveals an independent artist always changing his techniques, topics and inspirations...
For the good deal, note that Café Renoir also opens late in the night on Thursdays this summer, perfect to admire the sunset from the Butte Montmartre. Come and enjoy a glass of wine while enjoying the beautiful summer nights in a festive ambiance. Every week, entertainments change to offer you music, dance and other surprises.
This summer, in July, it's Winerie Parisienne who teams up for the late-night openings. A glass of wine is offered along with your late-night special ticket (€16 for the temporary exhibition, the café and a glass of wine by Winerie).
In other words, this is the good idea for a charming and delicious break that could end, why not, with a bucolic stroll to the Sacré Coeur, as we did.
