Christophe Michalak's sweetness lovers have a new reason to smile... On Tuesday 6 October 2015 the famous pastry chef has finally opened his own pastry shop in the capital's 4th arrondissement. Pop to the shop to discover pastries by the meter, kosmiks with all the bells and whistles.

Christophe Michalak's success is growing. Even though the pastry chef already works for the Plaza Athénée, appears on the French TV show "Dans la peau d'un chef" (In a Chef's shoes) and fulflills many gourmet people's tastebuds thanks to his school, the Michalak Masterclass, the 2005 World Champion Pâtissier is not about to stop and opens his pastry shop in Paris, just behind the BHV store!

Because he cannot be in two places at the same time, he decided to surround himself with the best pastry chefs. For instance, he named Tristan Rousselot (finalist of the third season of "Qui sera le prochain grand pâtissier" - Who's the next great pâtissier) as the pastry chef in charge of this new address.

A small shop then but offering a wide range of sweetness imagined by the French pastry chef and offered to passersby and lovers of the chef's signature desserts, yet not as much sophisticated as at the Plaza Athénée.

Chocolate lovers or citrus fruit fans, Christophe Michalak pleases each and every palate with various recipes he renews weekly. You can always find chocolate, coffee, caramel or yuzu desserts but you can let yourself be tempted to try phenomenal desserts like this maple-muscovado (whole cane sugar) rum baba.

On the menu of Christophe Michalak's pastry shop:

  • his salted butter caramel cream puff for €9,
  • five desserts by the meter, Napoleons (millefeuilles), lemon tarts, rum babas (for 8 persons) for about €45,
  • five calisson-shaped cakes for about €20,
  • fantastiks, his round entremet for 6 persons for about €45,
  • a Kosmik bar (small individual desserts to eat in a verrine) for about €7,
  • small chocolate treats,
  • financiers and biscuits.

We can assure you that you will find THE dessert to shake up your palate and even some other treats to keep close. We succumb to the chocolate Klaquettes, totally crazy chocolate mendiants at €10 for 100g, or the Truks described like "small chocolate surprises that crunch, crack and explode in your mouth and that you can keep in your pocket!" available at €8.5 for 100g. 

However on the opening day, the place has been the victim of its own success and most of the cakes has disappeared within an hour!
