Thirty years after the release of the second movie of Venkman, Stantz, Spengler and Zeddemore’s adventures, the Ghostbusters are back in a brand-new movie reportedly called “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” according to our Italian fellows at badtaste and will be out in France on November 10, 2021. A movie directed by Jason Reitman son of moviemaker Ivan Reitman who directed the saga’s first two movies.
As for the cast, the actors of the first two films (excluding Harold Ramis who passed away in 2014) will reprise their roles in the ghostbusting team in New York. But they will have to count on new heads since have also been casted Mckenna Grace (Captain Marvel, Annabelle Comes Home…), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, It Chapter 2…), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man and the Swap, Avengers: Endgame…) and even Carrie Coon (Avengers: Infinity War, Widows…).
Jason Reitman also declared that it was a sequel to the first two movies and this new film will have nothing to do with the reboot released in 2016 directed by Paul Feig and starring Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones as the revenant exterminators.
A single mom with her two kids settle in a small city and discover their bonds with a ghostbuster team, and the legacy of their grandfather.
