La Villette open-air film festival is one of the greatest event in the summer. Even though coronavirus had the best of many events, La Villette Grande Halle and park president Didier Fusillier confirmed the traditional open air film fest will take place from July 23 to August 22, 2020.
Meet from Wednesday to Sunday, on the fresh grass of the park of La Villette or comfortably seated on a deckchair rented on the spot. For this edition, Didier Fusillier said in an interview with Le Monde: "we will draw spots on the ground with boxes for 2 or 3, like in a drive-in".
The program is yet to come. Last year, La Villette open air film festival screened movies like "Erin Brockovich" by Steven Soderbergh, "Captain Fantastic" by Matt Ross or even the fantastic "Jeremiah Johnson" by Sydney Pollack, without forgetting the unmissable "Tomorrow" by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent to approach another path for the society and the future of the planet.
Every year, 20 movies are screened for free, to discover at the Prairie du triangle (open from 7 p.m.). Note that each screening takes place at nightfall between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (according to the date).
Please note La Villette will also welcome many artists for free performances to make your summer happier and be ready for September. We are looking forward to it!
