Taste Festival is coming back to Paris and storms the Grand Palais for the fifth edition taking place from May 9 to 12, 2019. Every year some chefs, the best in Paris, set up a small restaurant in the heart of the Grand Palais to show us their signature dishes in small portions, these key dishes that make the attending chefs famous worldwide.
For the fifth edition of the Taste Festival, about forty chefs and over 30,000 visitors are expected in the sublime nave of the Grand Palais for 4 days filled with tasting sessions and good food.
Taste of Paris is not an ordinary exhibition in the way it only opens at mealtimes. You can come and have lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., or dinner from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.. We're licking our lips just looking at the different booths of the major restaurants taking their kitchens out just for a few and extraordinary days.
Here, the idea is not to sit at a table to taste the cooking of an excellent chef (you better go to the chef's restaurant), but to nibble on food sample here and there to discover all the potential of the Parisian chefs. You can also taste 3 to 4 dishes typical of each chef's cooking and discover the "Chefs' Secrets" during interactive cookery classes provided every day.
Yet you should know that you can book a VIP table for an exceptional meal. In the enchanting setting of the Grand Palais, we enjoy the best of chefs at the rotunda. Throughout the meal, we meet chefs and we leave with a gift. A unique moment to experience in Paris!
For those who're not regulars, at the entrance of this uncommon festival, you book your discovery ticket online and you add a Taste of Paris car (also on line) that you credit and recharge according to what you would like to taste, knowing that a dish costs between €6 and €12! You can also roam around the show alleys and buy several dishes to nibble on at the different stands of the big names of the French gastronomy.
This fifth edition promises an uncommon cast since about forty chefs and pastry chefs are expected within their temporary restaurants or masterclasses and cooking classes:
The most curious visitors will have the opportunity to book small workshops with (very famous) chefs, conferences and masterclasses.
Taste of Paris is also the opportunity to discover great farmers and artisans from all over France to offer quality raw materials essential to cook well.
Under the Grande Nef, the best of Paris delicatessens and the different culinary arts will be brought together. Thus, every year, about one hundred brands are invited to show the best of their catalogs!
