Have you heard about European Heritage Days? This major cultural event invites us to explore one's heritage through a wonderful program of guided tours, often free of charges, exclusive entertainments and more surprises. Some places usually closed to the public even open on the occasion!
Make the best of the 39th edition of European Heritage Days to discover Auguste Comte's house open on Saturday September 17 and Sunday 18, 2022. Set on rue Monsieur le Prince, in the heart of the Latin Quarter, this museum-apartment has not changed a bit since Auguste Comte's death 151 years ago. Meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a self-guided and free tour open to the entire family.
Maybe have you already read some of his works at school or during your studies, but who is Auguste Comte? Father of sociology, this major 19th-century philosopher also developed positivism, “a global project reorganizing the society in its social, political, moral and even religious grounds” like the museum named after him says.
Place of remembrance, this apartment invites visitors on a genuine journey across time by the philosopher's side and enables to dive into his theories and grasp all the issues.
This is also the occasion to learn more about who he was and what he was working on.
Shall we go, friends?
