European Heritage Days 2019 at Paris Musée Cognacq-Jay

For the 36th edition of European Heritage Days, Musée Cognacq-Jay set in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement in Paris and devoted to art from the 18th century opens to all and holds several workshops and other entertainments on September 21 and 22, 2019.

Art and history lovers are expected at the Musée Cognacq-Jay for the 36th edition of European Heritage Days on September 21 and 22, 2019. The latter presents a rich collection of sculptures, furniture, paintings and other works of art gathered between 1900 and 1925 by the founder of La Samaritaine, Ernest Cognacq and his wife Marie-Louise Jay. This common collection has later been donated to Paris, a precious treasure you can admire for free along the guided tours and other entertainments provided by the place.

On the menu of European Heritage Days 2019 at the Musée Cognacq-Jay:

  • Family workshop: bal mask - Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m.
    Go and discover the paintings, sculptures and art objects from the 18th century, then, create a mask inspired by the decorative patterns observed through the collection and thanks to this great crafting workshop.
    Starting from 6 years old, no prior booking needed.
  • Introduction to baroque dance - Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
    With light and rousing music, thanks to steps and choreographed moves easily practicable, costumed dancers from the Compagnie Fêtes Baroques invite you to discover the ancient dance that made the fame of the balls at the Court during the 18th century.
