As France is on curfew from 6 p.m., the incidence rate by department remains an indicator to monitor very closely to know more about the evolution of the epidemic. As a matter of fact, even though departments exceeding the threshold of 200 positive cases for 100,000 inhabitants were first to make new measures to fight against the spread of the epidemic, including implementing extended curfew, brought forward to 6 p.m., the entire country now has to comply with the measure until the situation improves. Here are the incidence rates in each department as of Friday 16 April 2021.
The new indicator to track very closely as the year begins is the incidence rate in each department. As a matter of fact, it enables to assess the part of people contaminated in each department and it tells the number of people that tested positive for Covid over the past 7 days in 100,000 inhabitants.
Please find hereunder, and for each region in France, the department-based incidence rate as of Friday 16 April 2021. In red are departments incidence rate is above 200 for 100,000; in orange, departments the rate is set between 100 and 200 for 100,000. In green we have departments for which threshold is under 100 for 100,000. These areas are yet not risk-free, but for now, they are not likely to be placed in early curfew.
The global incidence rate in France, as of Tuesday 13 April 2021 (consolidated data) is slightly decreasing and reaches 375.97 which is still far above the alert threshold of 50.
