"7 p.m. is too early" Emmanuel Macron said when visiting Melun this Monday April 26, 2021. A statement many French people agree on. And as France is about to exit lockdown, curfew is also to be adapted. According to the 4-step plan recently revealed in the press, curfew will be postponed twice before being fully lifted at the beginning of the summer 2021 as the vaccination campaign goes on.
The measure is to be eased first on May 19 during the second step of the lockdown exit, including the reopening of terraces and cultural places. Curfew will therefore move from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Then, on June 9, curfew will be postponed to 11 p.m., at the same time as the reopening of restaurant indoor dining rooms. Last but not least, starting June 30, 2021, curfew is to be fully lifted, but nightclubs are to remain closed even during the fourth and last step of the current lockdown exit plan.
