Hakuna Matata! The Lion King musical is back to Paris théâtre Mogador, 10 years after its latest performance at the theater. If the show was said to start from September 2020, because of the coronavirus epidemic, it is postponed to March 18, 2021.
Because of the coronavirus epidemic currently hitting France and the rest of the world, the return of the "Lion King" musical to Mogador, initially planned from September 19, 2020 is postponed for a few months. The show will headline the theater from March 18, 2021.
The production says "The Lion King musical is a unique show because of its size and the vairety of teams and talents it requires, the richness of the backgrounds, costumes, and puppets designed by Julie Taymor. This is what has made its world sucess and giving it its exceptional character for over twenty years.
We have had to postpone the reopening of the Théâtre Mogador, and postpone Disney's Lion King's grand opening to March 18, 2021.
Constraints we have to work with, including some still inevitable, did not enable us to prepare the show in proper conditions, starting with the impossibility for the international creative teams supervising the Lion King production, or South-African artists to travel to Paris.
As we want to save our artists, technic teams, as much as our spectators, over 70,000 of them have booked tickets, it was more that responsible, despite the great excitation over the show, to make such a decision.
Your tickets remain valid and within a few days, a new performance schedule will be put on line, enabling you to postpone your night".
