La crème de Normandie is the latest musical byHervé Devolder and Milena Marinelli, created in 2022. Running at the Théâtre du Gymnase from April 13 to July 6, 2024, it features eleven actors, a double bass player and a pianist.

Hervé Devolder and Milena Marinelli 's play has an air of vaudeville, being a comedy without psychological or moral intentions, and playing on the comedy of repetition. In a musical show, the artists present the audience with a mix of acting, music and singing, as they tell the light-hearted story of a brothel. It's a crazy, burlesque musical that reminds us of Georges Feydeau's plays.

The year is 1902. The owner of the brothel, Philidor Fromentelle, who runs it behind his wife's back, learns that a wealthy benefactor is coming to town and tries to pass off his brothel as an orphanage. His wife, wanting to honor her husband's work, decides to come and see the orphanage, and the whole brothel ends up trying to pull off the illusion, except that the customers keep arriving...

Hervé Devolder, co-writer, co-director and composer, has already won two Molières for his musical shows Les fiancés de Loches in 2016 and Chance! in 2019.
